Description:

Riding to work on Monday July 29th, 2013, just after 9AM, eastbound Dundas just before Beverly Street. There was a whole line of cars stopped and this one car angled in towards the sidewalk.. I did slow down but also thought that the driver had done this as there was an approaching police car, siren blaring. But no, the door opened and I went down, my chin hitting the pavement. I was a little dazed and angry. The passenger came out with a child and profusely apologized. I was upset. The irony was that she eventually pulled a pair of crutches out of the car.. she needed them. Hard to be too angry after that. The driver never got out of the car but did wait until I sorted my bike out and was on my way. The next day, I felt like I had broken a rib and my left thumb was swollen, in pain.. the recovery has been very slow. I could not cough or blow my nose or roll in bed without it really hurting the first couple of weeks and the thumb is still stiff and swollen... going to the Doctor tomorrow for the thumb.
